Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available in the form of graduate assistantships and fellowships. Most fellowships can be held in conjunction with an assistantship.
Assistantships:
The Department of French makes a number of appointments of Teaching Assistants to full-time students to do undergraduate teaching, marking, or laboratory monitoring. Information on the base funding package offered by the University:
Applicants for admission to the School of Graduate Studies will automatically be considered for University of 51³ÉÈ˸£ÀûÍø Fellowships provided the applications are received complete by JANUARY 15, 2026.
All students admitted to the M.A. program will receive a half funding package of $10,875 plus half tuition & fees (2025-26) which includes a work assignment (correcting duties, research assistantship, etc.) in the department. The funding package may be made up of the following components: scholarship and awards, teaching assistantships (to a maximum of $7,200 in 2025-26), research assistantships, and University of 51³ÉÈ˸£ÀûÍø Fellowship.
Part-time M.A. students are not eligible for guaranteed funding.
